Trunnion mounted ball valves are quarter-turn valves used to stop the flow of medium in pipelines. These valves feature a round or spherical disk in the center that rotates to start or stop the flow.
This disk is called a ball and it features a hollow center. Ball valves are extremely versatile and are commonly used in industrial applications where tight shut-off is required.
Trunnion mounted ball valves feature additional support for the ball. This support is in the shape of a shaft and is called a trunnion.
The trunnion absorbs any added pressure from the flow, reducing stress on the ball and seats of the valve. Trunnion mounted ball valves are used in high-pressure, large scale applications where low operating torque is required.
★ LOW TORQUE OPERATION
The ball is trunnion. The ball surface is grinded and hardened by envelop grinding process. The ball and the stem are separated. Both the stem and the ball are hardened, so they are abrasion resistant. The axial load of the sphere is two (one at top, one at bottom). The bearing seat is fixed on the packing box or the bonnet. The axial load on the ball is passed to the packing box or the bonnet by two (one at top, one at bottom), self lubricated sliding bearing. Stem bears pure torque design. It doesn’t subject to transverse shear stress from the direction of the medium. So the vale can be operated smoothly with low torque.
★ ONLINE WITH PRESSURE REPLACING OR REPAIRING THE BLOWDOWN VALVE DESIGN
Although the ordinary trunnion ball valve has blowdown device, if broken it cannot be replaced or maintained with pressure. Array valve installs one isolate valve between the blowdown valve and valve body, vent and valve body. If the blowdown valve or vent needs to be replaced or maintained, it only needs to close the isolate valve and replace or maintain the blowdown valve while the pipeline is working.
★ POSITION LIMIT DESIGN
When needed to replace or repair the actuator online, it needs to accurately to find the valve fully open or fully closed position, in order to adjust the position limit mechanism of the actuator. So the valve is designed with position limit.
★ EXTENDABLE STEM DESIGN
In some underground working condition, extended stem to be used above ground can be offered. There is one sealing ring in the extended stem stand. This can prevent underground water entering stand and corrode the bolt. But It must be clarified while placing the order.
★ ANTI-STATIC DEVICE
The ball is provided with an anti-static spring, with the action of the static spring force, the stem and the ball are in good contact, the ball, the valve body and the valve stem are kept in contact with each of them. It can avoid the charge accumulation caused by the friction of the valve switch, eliminating the risk of fire and explosion caused by the static spark.
